Covid-19 Update: Visitation
March 5th, 2021
Dear Families and Friends,
According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), Wayne County is now at a Risk Level D. As a 20-bed licensed Adult Foster Care home, Aspen must adhere to their guidelines. Under this order, facilities located in counties with a risk level of A, B, C, or D, may allow both outdoor and indoor visits assuming they meet the following criteria:
The facility has had no new Covid-19 cases originate in the facility, including those involving resident or staff ("facility-onset cases"), within the prior 14 days and is not currently conducting outbreak testing.
Admission of a resident who is known to be Covid-19 positive at the time of admission does not constitute a facility-onset case; The local health department or the department has not prohibited visitation at the facility
Visitor testing is required under most circumstances
We appreciate your understanding and respect your decision to allow Aspen to care for your loved one. Please consider the following guidelines which will apply for all visitations:
An on-site antigen nasal swab test will be performed prior to entry to the community - we ask that you wait in the front foyer. Results will be available within 10-15 minutes.
Negative test results will be permitted entry and tests last for up to 72 hours. After 72 hours, we are required to retest.
Results that do not clearly show a negative test result cannot enter and the visitor must follow up with a physician. Once you receive a negative result, we will try the nasal swab again.
Physical distancing is required, and masks must be worn. If you do not have a mask, one will be provided to you.
A maximum of 2 visitors at a time indoors and in resident rooms - at this time we do not have limited times on the visits, however, should the need arise, we may modify this.
Weather permitting, outdoor visitors are welcome to use the gazebo or front porch provided they are not in use.
Visiting hours will be from 9:00 am - 9:00 pm, however if you require exceptions, this must be pre-approved by management.
Testing applies to anyone 13 years of age and older. Younger visitors must comply with #5.
We ask that if you are the guardian, POA, or responsible party receiving this information that you share these protocols with all siblings, friends, or other individuals that may be visiting your loved one so that there is no confusion or misunderstandings.
